Freebie Friday is, as always, dedicated to the broke and crafty!
Today’s official FREEBIE DOWNLOAD is the Vertical Lark’s Knot, a beautiful variation on the simple yet incredibly useful Lark’s Knot. It’s an anchoring knot and in crafting, is traditionally used to begin a macramé piece.
This weekend, I’m staying at my friends’ country house in upstate New York, where this particular knot inspired the self-proclaimed “non-crafter” hosts to make a fancy collar for their recently adopted two-year old poochie, Rika.
They followed the instructions in 75 Chinese, Celtic, & Ornamental Knots by Laura Williams and Elise Mann, which included a tip that hand-tied knotting is easier if anchored at the beginning. It’s a work in progress and we’re all looking forward to Rika’s fashion show!
